is an American rock band established in 2017 in New York, NY consisting of band members Taylor Nunu and DENSZA. The duo first met in 2009 while attending architecture school at The University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida.
After discovering similar tastes in music, the two started collaborating and writing songs. Throughout their five years of college the two wrote, recorded and self-produced their records under the name Carrera. The duo started sculpting their sound and refining their craft, which culminated in a handful of self-released songs towards the end of their time in Miami.
Upon graduating from architecture school, both members moved to New York City in the fall of 2014 looking for new opportunities in music and design while continuing to write. The change in cities proved to be productive for the two as they wrote a plethora of new material and refined their recording and production skills.
The band's eclectic rock sound draws from a mixture of rock, pop, alternative and singer-songwriter influences. After some time the duo started taking steps towards promoting their music as Carrera. However, due to conflicts with the band name, the two decided to rebrand themselves as Up&Up.
Shortly thereafter, the band started to promote their music with the release of their debut EP "Post No Bills" in May of 2017. Up&Up gave their debut performance a few months after in promotion of the EP, playing acoustic versions of the songs as well as some of their unreleased material. Currently the band is playing shows and working on material for their first album.
